Big thangs poppin' for Boogiezone... Elm just secured a space next to Hype Dance Studios in Torrance and construction/renovation has begun on Boogiezone HQ! Definitely exciting stuff. Looking forward to the grand opening, Elm!

APPLE A DAY

I love reading gadget blogs... ESPECIALLY Apple blogs (gotta stay up on my rumors and speculations game... 3G iPhone what!). These lines of text often accompanied by visual teasery give me something interesting to look forward to every day. With that said, here are some cool tidbits/highlights from my readings that I would like to share with you, perhaps the non-tech-saavy blog reader.

If you are at all interested in the iPhone, ~~June 10th~~ June 9th is all you need to know. It will be on that very ~~Tuesday~~ Monday that Steve Jobs will give his annual WWDC Keynote (Apple's way of introducing its newest products to the public). Last year, Steve introed the iPhone... and in a couple of weeks (one year anniversary), he will put all the rumors and speculations to rest with the second iteration of the iPhone aka KISS THE MOBILE PHONE GAME GOODBYE (AGAIN).

Rumors
- Two cameras, one in back and one in the front for video iChat
- GPS
- thinner design
- LOTS of tweaks and fixes: cut-and-paste, mass deleting

Biggest rumor has to be the $199 iPhone from AT&T. If this rumor is true, AT&T will be knocking off $200 bucks when you sign-up for a two year contract with the iPhone. Apple retail stores will still be selling iPhones but at retail cost. Why? These will be carrier-free!

There are also other rumors (eclipsed by the iPhone madness) of redesigned MacBooks and MacBook Pros. Although I haven't heard much about the portables... Apple still hasn't fully transitioned their star products to the current Aluminum/Black theme. White MacBooks are still present. I stumbled upon MacPredictions.com (great site, great mockups btw) and their awesome (not too off) prediction that all portables follow in the Air's footsteps...

I believe!

Apple is known to be very tightlipped about things... so who knows what June 10th will bring. Could be everything mentioned here... could be a whole other bag of peanuts. The fanboys AND their $$$ are waiting.

Weakest ALL CAL crowd ever. The whole venue wasn't even half full (for the competition portion). What ever happened to the days where ALL CAL packed hotel conference rooms BEFORE THE COMPETITION??? As a competitor at this event for 3 years and spectator for another 3, this had to be the lamest ALL CAL. The people in charge need to know.

Since 2005, there were signs of decline and its depressing to see where it is today... FIVE (PRE) CLUBBING PERFORMANCES. Stop having it at clubs (nothing against Tom, for all I know... he saved the event). ALL CAL, you have lost your prestige.

BUT we didn't let that stop us alums from having a good time :D

BAGEL BURGERS

No one brings their lunch to work on Fridays (thats if you bring a lunch) because Fridays are "Eating out Fridays" (too many Fridays!). A few of us decided to hit up Bagel Me! in Old Towne Orange while the majority of the crew went to Hollingshead Deli for some beer and sandwiches which I found kind of disappointing for what they charge... not a fan.
